Aidsnet's members

- All parties actively involved with HIV/AIDS issues or planning to become involved!

A network is entirely dependendt on the contributions and ideas which the members choose to share.

Aidsnet is open to organisations and institutions working with or sharing a professional interst in international AIDS intervention in developing countries. We also work with individuals who provide the basis for the professional resource base.

We comprise a wide range of institutional members. Each with their own special character and competencies, but mutual difference.

The purpose of Aidsnet is not to create a common identity, but to identify core values which bind members together and form the basis for the network's activities. Such core values are found in:

  • The respect of the individual wherever he or she may live.
  • A rights-based approach to people affected by or infected with HIV.
  • The perception that HIV/AIDS intervention to be read into a sexual and reproductive health context.
  • The recognition in the rich world of our joint responsibility to help remedy the global consequences of the AIDS epidemic in the poor countries.

Aidsnet also adheres to the principles stipulated in the internationally approved Code of Good Practice for NGOs responding to HIV/AIDS.
